Ideally, it’s best to have your child’s teeth checked around the age of one. Your child should have all their teeth by around age two. If not, we can sort of identify issues before then. The earlier that we start to check your child’s teeth, the more familiar and the more comfortable they’ll be with seeing us and seeing the dental environment.

We, as dentists, don’t really like when we see kids who have come in with pain down the road as their first check or as their first visit because they might associate it negatively in the future. So if they’re having early checks where it’s fun and engaging, then it will be a really positive experience for them in the long run.
